Taking college courses online is the best option for those who cannot juggle family and work around traditional University attendance. Further, with online courses you usually have more flexibility in class load than in the traditional setting. Further, in some cases the class lecture is prerecorded allowing the online student to rewind and replay the lecture as needed.
Additionally, many online colleges do not initially place class constraints on their students. What this means is that if the student is able to understand the course material and pass assigned tests then they will be allowed to complete courses at their own pace. This is not true for all online universities however, so be sure to check with the university of your interest. Lastly, nowadays a student can receive federal financial aid for attending an online University whereas in years past it was not offered.
In contrast to online University attendance many students would prefer attending a traditional classroom verses a virtual classroom as this gives them the opportunity to receive live instruction from the instructor and too some are just not comfortable with anything but a traditional University classroom setting. Whichever setting works for you and makes you the most comfortable is the right setting.

When you are looking for a University to attend-especially online you need to know that the University is a reputable University that offers excellent training which will ensure you will have top notch employability. Your education is your future and you would not want to settle for the first one that sounds like it is everything you are wanting, do your homework until you find the one that is!
As a mental health counselor you will be able to use your newly acquired skills to help numerous people in a broad range of concerns. Depending on your interest or specialty you may work with children in a public school setting, victims of crisis, perpetrators in the community or behind bars, family problems and any number of other areas. The sense of satisfaction derived in knowing that someone has been helped by you is a reward far greater than any salary you could obtain in this field.
